How to buy pure organic food?
It is highly important for teenagers and middle-aged individuals to be educated about eating healthy and organic food so that they can have a relaxed, contented old-age. In fact, you can increase your lifetime by eating the right type of food and enjoy living in this world for longer.
Look for organic food in the market:
When food shopping, your healthy grocery list must contain fruits and vegetables that are 100% organic or food items that are made from pure organic ingredients. Because there is a large consumer demand, producers tend to produce food items commercially, meaning their products contain chemical compounds in them that could really harm our bodies. Chemicals like pesticides are used by the producers so that they can fasten up the production process. However, now that most people have raised their voices against the inorganic food being supplied in the market and how it is creating health related issues, we will find organic food as well that may have a little higher price in the market but is still worth buying.
Organic food contains no chemical compounds and is rich with vitamins and minerals that make our immune system stronger to fight diseases. Organic food items are also beneficial for the diet-conscious people who are always looking for no carb meals. Healthy food will make you feel more energetic each day and do your work better than before. Researchers indicate that compared to inorganic food, organic food tastes much better and can make food recipes extra delicious.
What are the sources to buy organic food?
There are lots of groups that are working on the agenda of ‘eat healthy food, say yes to organic food’ hence, you will definitely find someone in your society who is a member of such group. You can also join such groups because there are several benefits, of it like getting discounts on buying organic items in bulk, instantly knowing when these items are put on sale, and knowing whenever fresh and new items are available, etc.
Those people who live near local farms are actually the luckiest because they can buy healthy food from their stores whenever they want without driving extra miles just to do so.
Not to eat inorganic food items:
Organic fruits and vegetables are easily available in most parts of the country; however, there are such food items that are not easily available and people have no choice but to buy the inorganic items available. For example, chickens are now grown in abundance by injecting steroids and hormones in them. Chicken is a high source of protein and it is really important to eat this food item, but how can you escape from eating ‘broiler chicken’ which is really harmful? Find the stores that sell natural chicken and eggs or food products made from natural chicken and eggs. People are most likely to find one, but if one does not then reduce your intake of chicken and find other means of protein intake, as God has blessed us with a lot of healthy food options.
My foodie life in an Indian Restaurant
How my foodie life was born …
When I was young and growing up with my parents, I would often help out my mum in the kitchen when she cooked the standard meals Britons would settle down and eat every dinner time. There were sausage, egg and chips on some days and liver, bacon and mashed potato with hot onion gravy poured over it, to name but two of the “standards” I used to enjoy. Sundays was always the day when we ate a roast; some weeks it would be chicken, others it was lamb (my favourite) but I always remember not getting on with beef, as I found it too dry.
Fridays was fish day and we would often get fish (cod, skate or herring) in batter with chips and a big fat pickled onion from the local chip shop. When I left home at 22, I always cooked food meals based on those everyday favourites previously mentioned. I always scared to eat “foreign cuisine” and would not join my friends when they went out for a Chinese meal or an Indian. Then one day my girlfriend begged me to join her for an Indian meal at a restaurant just to see if I would enjoy it. I pictured what means a foodie life.
And the winner is …
I still remember I ordered a Chicken Korma and Basmati Rice dish and we were served poppadum and dips for starters. I must admit I actually remember enjoying the starters a lot but when the main dish was served, the aromas wafting around the restaurant had started to make me salivate. I was advised to select a naan bread to go with my main dish and my girlfriend suggested a Keema Nan. This was leavened bread with cooked lamb inside and was supposed to be used to “mop up” the sauces of your curry when you got near to the end of your meal.
Needless to say, I was absolutely hooked on this Indian meal and had been converted literally in one evening. The delicious flavours and spices had just simply exploded and introduced a whole new sensation into my mouth. I was a regular (at least once a fortnight) at many of the five Indian restaurants that grace my local High Street for the next decade of my life.
I can tell that I’ve tried a lot of “foreign food” and I actually love it. The first thing I do when I travel is to eat
What kind of foodie life ? What about you ? Any experience that you want to share ?

How to Recognize Truly Healthy Foods
How to Recognize Truly Healthy Foods
These days most people are concerned with eating healthy food and are seeking ways to know how to recognize what to eat and how to tell if it is actually good for you or not. Here are some of the ways that consumers can discover if they are buying healthy food for themselves and their families.
How to Read a Nutrition Label on Foods
One of the best ways to find the nutrition facts about the foods you are buying is to learn how to read the list of ingredients on the label.
Before you buy any type of foods, if it isn’t something like natural fruits or vegetables being sold, then it will be in a package with a nutrition label. Take a look at the ingredients very carefully in order to know the nutrition facts. First, you should know that the order the ingredients appear will tell you which ingredients are in the highest amounts.
For instance, if it lists sugar first, then beware, because that means it is most likely not healthy food. Sugar may not be listed as just the word “sugar.” It could also be in the form of brown sugar, nectar, honey, agave, glucose, dextrose, fructose, or malt syrup. Even if the sweetening comes from natural sources, it still may not be part of recipes healthy for you or your family. It all depends on the amount of the sweetening in the product.
Also look for items such as partially hydrogenated or hydrogenated oils, which stand for trans fats. Trans fats are added to many of today’s foods in order to enhance the flavor and get them to have a longer shelf life. But these trans fats are used in recipes merely to make you want to eat the products and then they end up clogging a person’s arteries if they eat too much of foods with them in it.
You should also look to see if the foods have a large amount of salt or other fats, as both of these can cause health risks. Too much salt can lead to high blood pressure or other issues and too much fat can cause high cholesterol and other issues. If you want to be eating healthy food, then you should eat less than 2,300 mg of sodium daily, unless you have high blood pressure already, and then the amount should be less than 1,500 mg daily, as regulated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Calories are another issue, especially if you are trying not to gain weight. The calories, fats, and other ingredients listed on a label are in relation to a specific size of serving, which will also be listed on the label. One should note that this is also based on what is considered a basic diet consisting of 2,000 calories a day, but that amount isn’t going to match everyone’s calorie intake, so it often isn’t very realistic for people to use. It is better for you to concentrate on the amount of each of the nutrients and other ingredients if you want to be using healthy food for yourself or your family.
Eating Out at Restaurants
Another way to eat healthy food is to be more careful when you are eating out at restaurants. Many restaurants will have their menu listed with the nutrition facts about their dishes. It would behoove the health conscious person to read this menu prior to going out so that you can be sure of the recipes at the restaurant being full of healthy food for you to enjoy.
For instance, you also should be aware of the wording on the menu. If the dish says that it hfas a creamy sauce, then chances are it is full of butter, or other fatty products. If you want healthy food, then you should instead order grilled meats or baked meats like lean steak or chicken or a baked or grilled fish and leave off the buttery sauces. If you must have sauce, stick with one made with tomatoes and you will get the health benefits of vitamin c, and other nutritional items.
You should also choose grilled or steamed vegetables to accompany your meat and pastas or breads or rice that are whole grain. And for dessert, try a nice fruit plate with the fruits that are in season instead of calorie and fat laden cakes and cookies. You can even enjoy a small glass of red wine because the grapes in it have antioxidant like properties that help protect you against cancer, as shown in many studies.
Whatever the case, it is possible to get healthy food and find recipes that are good for you and your family, as well as eat out and still stay healthy.

Healthy Food at Fast Food
With the age of technology comes busy work days and family schedules. Now that information is readily available employers want more from you in less time. If you have a family you might find it difficult to juggle family time, cooking, cleaning, and work. It is for this reason that many working parents find it easier to order food or stop at the nearest fast food restaurant on their way home from a long day at the office. Nutritional experts have stated that you should never eat at a fast food place, but many find it impossible to not every once in a while. Although fast food is inexpensive and an easy fix when you are short on time it is for the most part very bad for you and your health. However, there are ways that you can make healthy food choices if you have to stop for fast food.
Fast food places are now required to put the nutritional facts next to all of their menu choices. This will help you to answer the question how to be healthy when stopping for fast food. You can choose the menu items with the best nutrition facts.
Many people believe they are making healthy food choices when they order a salad from the fast food menu. This is not always the case. The salad can sometimes be a worse choice than a burger and fries. Certain salad dressings and all of the extras that come on the salad cause it to have more calories than a burger. It is for this reason if the salad comes with chicken you should have the grilled chicken. If the chicken is fried you are adding a lot of extra calories. If the salad comes with a creamy dressing try not to use the whole amount. Also do not order a salad with a lot of bacon and cheese and a lot of other unhealthy extras.
How to eat healthy when on the run might be difficult to find an answer to, but there are a lot of healthy food choices for quick food that might elude you. You do not always have to stop at a McDonalds or Burger King. There are other places like Tim Horton’s that offer soup and sandwiches, while Subway offers great vegetables and sub choices with very little calories. There can be a lot of healthy food options on fast food menus all you need to do is look for the healthiest options for you and your family.

Healthy food is more about making the right choices and eating fresh ingredients than anything. Staying away from high sodium and high fat content foods is where many of us struggle.
